• Minimize contact for volunteers by having them utilize their own mobile devices to conduct surveys and record observations.

  • Conduct more observations and less surveys.  While it is ideal to have a high survey rate, the pandemic may impact the ability to do this.  Extrapolation can be used to fill the gaps.

  • Volunteer registration forms, combined with region and count team management features can be used together to ensure effective coverage of the areas designated to be canvassed. No need to gather at a deployment site to get your coverage areas – this can be done upfront!

  • Minimize the number of new contacts by having those who already interact with people experiencing homelessness (PEH) conduct most of the surveys.  This could include street outreach and shelter staff, people with lived experience, and first responders.  Volunteers can then focus on Observation Tallies and only conduct surveys during times when social distancing does not pose a risk to privacy.
